35/35 truck firewall pad bolts

2 Attachment(s)
I have had a few 35 trucks but noting ever nice and nothing had the firewall pad still in it. I just replaced (temporary in place) a botched up firewall on a ‘36 cab and the donor firewall had 13 of these bolts. They look like they held the original pad on. I count that I need 16. I have 13. Is there a source for these?

check epay every once in a while someone will have a couple. I'm sure the Hershey swap meet will have some. maybe even Bert's in Colorado might have a source to help you but to my knowledge they are not reproduced. 33-34 pickups used them too

Something similar are sold by the 55-57 TBird suppliers and are for the same reason. Not sure the size and length are the same, you should be able to ask the supplier for the dimensions. For CASCO, they are Firewall pad to firewall fastener. , part # 357036S ZC

Also check with the Early Ford parts suppliers. They seem to be a part that Ford used for many years.

If all else fails, that would be an easy project for someone with a lathe. I used to be in the same frame of mind, (where can I buy this or that). I bought a tool room lathe twenty years ago and it has solved a lot of problems for me.
Hope this helps,
Tom

My 36 had the push-pin style holding what I believe were the remnants of the original pad. The aftermarket ones available are poor quality but can be made to work. I don't recall seeing any like those you have in your pics.

Early and mid 1935 trucks used the special bolt that you have part # B-35362. 1936 firewalls used a split metal fastener. Neither will be easy to find. Try 3rd Generation Automotive Michael Driskell.

Quite ride solutions makes reproduction pads and has the split-type pins

We used to make these and stopped about a year ago. I may make one more run of them soon. You can take a 5/16 partial threaded truss head bolt on a lathe and turn down to 1/4 leaving 5/8” of the 5/16” portion then thread to 1/4-20. That’s how I make them. Time consuming but part of it

# B-35362, B part number? 32 part number? not used on a 32?

Re: 35/35 truck firewall pad bolts

BoxCat Tom - The "B-" prefix indicates the part first came out for a Model B vehicle. If the part didn't change the part number doesn't change. I think this particular part was phased out with the push-pin style some time in 1935, but the phase in of the newer style probably varied by production location and the old versions could always be substituted for the new ones some time after the vehicle rolled off the assembly line.
Hope this explanation makes sense.

In terms of pass cars they were used 1932-34 and early 1935.

I believe the usage 35Fordtn gave about cars is the same for the commercial and truck vehicles too.

Re: 35/35 truck firewall pad bolts

? ? ? I said I thought I had a few of those bolts, A guy on here responded and I have tried twice to get a message to him and he will not reply back ? So, if anyone needs some I have 23 in pretty good condition. $ 1.00 ea. plus a ride seems reasonable to me.
