1931 Tudor header screws size
 

I am putting back a 1931 Tudor, i did not take apart.
I need to install two screws on each side from the metal to the front wood header.
Les Andrews book calls for #10 x 1 1/2" wood screws- Page 3-78 of his book. Lower left of the page. Number 51.
The holes are about 5/8" diameter. Thoughts on what is correct?
