Protectant for 1930 phaeton roof
 

Looking for a product to put on my soft top roof to protect against UV and maybe assist with water proofing. The catch is that my roof is grey (or salt and pepper) and I do not want to risk using anything which may affect the color.

Search Paul Shinn YouTube Video's he did one on cleaning and protecting the roof on his sport coupe a few years ago which is similar to your fabric

You might want to hit up your local upholstery (car or house) guy to take a look and recommend the process to use on your fabric. Paul Shinn has his car top cleaned and protected at the same time the guy is doing his couches.

I use a product called “Hot Shine”. It is intended for tires (far superior to Amerol) but it works on almost any rubber/vinyl material and only takes a few minutes (It’s also cheap, I imagine a $10 bottle would last a couple years). I really like the way it works on tires, spray it on and then after a few minutes wipe it off to prevent that “Fake” look.
