I think the “must have” in your road tool bag 1 Attachment(s)
Not an endorsement for the “brand” BUT just bought this set to add to my wrench Line up, this 1/2 flex head “stubby”, to me, is an absolute “MUST HAVE” in your road tool bag/box….especially for 37 and up owners for removing the distributor. It fits in the limited space on the lower right distributor bolt and the right hand water pump pulley very nicely……AND the other two as well……what I would call a game changer!!!!!

Never having anything so new as a 37 (LOL), what is it about 37 up that a small combination box/open end will not do the job? My 37 engine has water pump block off plates. Is it the water pumps that make it difficult? |

it's not about the distance it's the lack of facilities. :) about 20 years ago my truck broke down in Austin Nv and i was about 150 miles from the nearest tow truck and a ford dealership that could replace my engine. the tow (cash only), food and lodging and the price of a rebuilt engine were much more use to me than any tool. OTOH the cash and ATM card were life-savers. :) |

I forgot, the bulbous shape of the distributor precludes using anything too “Tall” like a ratchet and socket fitting straight on the lower right bolt, so at best you have to use some form of socket, swivel, extension and ratchet and IF memory serves, still to much to fit straight on the bolt!! |
