41 big truck center grill molding anywhere?
 

Hey friends, I finally got to taking apart the grill of my 3/4 ton to sandblast and prime, and I found the center molding was broken. Its pot metal, will be painted Tacoma Cream, so not looking for the chrome version... Any help much appreciated!

mercman, any additional photos of this truck? Would love to compare. My louver molding is stainless steel, and the 'stripe' above it appears to have been a pinstripe, thinner, and looks like it separated into two thin lines at the back of the hood, through the A-pillar, and into lines above and below the 'belt stripe', which was solid Tacoma Cream. Wondering if my rust covered view would have been 'factory correct'?

Do you have all the pieces? It can be brazed back together. Aluminum brazing rod melts around 600*. Pot metal on the low end melts around 750* so there is a good window to work within. A MAP torch will work with the aluminum rods but a real torch with a small tip is easier to control in my opinion.

thanks, I wonder if the stripes on the side are specific to that model? I sure hope someone comes back with that grill piece! they are so darn expensive....

if it's going to be painted could you look at maybe repairing it with something like jb weld or similar and some steel strengthening embedded in?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but those Strips on the side of the Hood are unique to the 1941 Ford Trucks.

The Early Ford V8 Foundation Museum in Auburn, Indiana has this restored 1941 Ford V8 Fire Truck.
Unfortunately, the "whiskers" Trim at the base of the Hood have been put on the wrong side.
They need to be swapped around.
