1933 5 window value?,
 

Guys, haven't been on here in awhile, looking to value a nice original coupe. Car was painted in the 70s, lebonney interior, has 36 LB engine, vanpelt rebuilt trans from several years back. Car is all original, has not been cut on. I know its hard without seeing it. Just curious as what others have seen recently in regards to sale prices. Thanks for the reply's

to see real sale prices and look at the cars go to bringatrailer.com. no better source of real vintage car prices. it's possible to select "ford deluxe" and you'll get all BAT sales for vintage fords, their prices and the auctions with comments. you can spend hours/days looking at all of them.

I just went down this road. I have heard reports of perfect national award winners bringing just 30K in person to person sales. I have scoured auction results to find stock older restoration cars and come up with a general figure of $24k while modified cars bring significantly more. 3 windows bring a lot more and cabriolets seem to be a tiny bit less. My 34 5 window sounds similar to the one you are asking about, an older resto. I bought it in a person to person sale from the widow of a fellow V8 club member. By the time it is up and going again I should have a little less than the average auction price above in it though I do not know the condition of the engine internally as it has not run in years and may need more as yet unseen and unpaid for work. I looked in several old Hemmings' from 1980 and adjusted for inflation asking prices were between $115,000 and $85,000. Good time to be a buyer.

Prices are way down, maybe $25k at most if paint is still good, running good. Problem is that 70s restorations need to be likely re-restored. Pictures are worth a thousand words Buying or selling?

If it is any help, a friend's 5-W just sold (he passed away and the estate was being settled).It was a very nice body in primer, pro metal work all done, no engine, needing total assembly, no interior but most pieces were there. It went in the low 20K range. With prices these days a car like that would be 50-75K to finish. The same guy bought a stunning 5-W about 5 years ago for 45K out of Lake Havasu. Prices are down since then.

What about other years of early Fords? Are some holding value? Will at 80 years old I will finally be able to buy a '32 roadster but not a 3 window?

Mechanical brakes, Yes, Amp gauge, Yes, fuel gauge, fluid dark, no so accurate.
