Sticking float valve

Twice now my float valve has stuck open and when I turn on the gas it pours out the carborator intake. It is usually after sitting for awhile and no, I do not run the carborator dry when I park it. I did do that the first time it stuck so now do not. As I remember I have a pin seat float valve. Is the two ball gross jet style better and less prone to sticking? Thanks for help.

Re: Sticking float valve

The gross style is better but even it will fail if you have debris in the gas tank. I have used them all and still prefer the Viton tipped float valves. Now I know everyone will chime in about ethanol but I have used the same one for the last 3 years with no troubles. The new valves are specifically made to account for the ethanol fuels.
