Over heating Here is one I have never heard of from a Fahnestock v8 service handbook, 1937.
"In cases of severe trouble with overheating, Ford dealers can make a hacksaw cut in the bottom tank of the radiator, and then solder in a piece of sheet copper which will divide the bottom tank into two compartments, thus allowing a more even distribution of water flow thru the two sides of the radiator." Anyone ever done this? I thought I had heard of most of the "tricks" from putting tubes in the block to washers above the heads but this one takes the cake. |
