Mercury Pressure Plate Bolts

Who has them? The Ford bolts are different ….

Third Gen does not list them - if for nothing else, what is the thread size?

Thanks,

TomT

Re: Mercury Pressure Plate Bolts

Mid century Mercury cars that use the Borg & Beck clutch are larger diameter than the Ford bolts. The earlier post war Ford and Mercury are the same diameter. The later Mercury stuff was just a bit heavier duty. The original part number for the 3/8"-16 X 3/4" is 355538-S used from 1949 thru 1953. A lot of folks use ARP bolts for replacements. The originals are not common but GM used a lot of 3/8"-16 bolts.
