Need help with fuel shutoff

3 Attachment(s)
I have an oddball fuel shutoff on my T. It seems like the gas line is not the original size and they used some kind of aftermarket shutoff with 2 male tube thread ends. It has started leaking around the petcock and I need to find a replacement but nothing mates up to my fuel line and the elbow coming out of the carburetor. If anyone has seen this type of shutoff and could let me know where to find one I would appreciate it! Thanks.

Take all the fittings you want to replace to a NAPA store or a good hardware store and give them a try.

Nice, rare "pillarless" Coupe ! The fuel delivery has multiple issues - too many fittings for starters & the fuel line should be steel. I use annealed steel 1/4" brake line from NAPA. There were 2 styles of shut-offs that attached directly to the carb. inlet - the best one is no longer available but Snyder's carries one but one needs to use with caution - it likes to "stick" at times. Some folks use a short piece of neoprene fuel line for a gasket rather than the original felt packing.

Looks like the gas lines are copper. That is dangerous! Copper work hardens very easily and the vibrations and engine movement is enough to make the copper brittle and it could crack easily causing a fire hazard. If this was my car I'd tear out the jury rigged gas line and replace it with the original style shut off valve and steel gas line.

Lang's carries a good shut off valve also that threads into the carb.

Thanks for all the help! I had a feeling it might be better to just replace it all from the tank forward. Looks like I have a fun new project to do!
