Two 97 year olds out for an Easter Sunday drive

Took Gloria, our 97 year old neighbor out for a ride in the’28 roadster.
She had a little trouble getting into the car, said she’s not as spry as she was when her late husband came courting. But she had a great time and I’m so glad to see the smile on her face.

Very kind of you to think of her and take the time to do something for her that probably brought back a lot of happy memories. Her smile says it all! :)

Vern, Nice, your passenger looked comfortable & pleased.

I'm not looking to 'deflate' your excellent gesture but sometimes ... A friend begged his Aunt to take a ride with him in his Model A. At the end of a block she insisted he turn around and take her home.

"Sonny, If you HAD to drive in these things everyday like we used to, you'd never want to own one."

And you didn't even ask her to pay for the gas.

Neat! That was a very nice thing to do!

A '28 Roadster is a fit for just about ANYbody to get into, if they are over 5'6" tall.......they are a tight squeeze. Spry or not, we owned one for quite a long time. Horrible car to get in and out of . Our '29 Tudor was a breeze, it was never a problem:)

'28 Roadster PU is even worse.

I've been suckered into a couple neat cars just because the were low mileage gems. The one that really sticks in my mind was a 1960 F100 with less than 20,000 miles. Of course once I started driving it I realized it was just an old truck with a lousy ride ans cramped cab. Passed it on to a guy at work who had to have it and also didn't keep it long.........
