California Fires

Just received this - a shocking 1962 prediction of what has just happened . . again. Very confronting footage
Anyone who is into 1950s/1960s American cars this is unreal.

Lets just enjoy the video for the cars, and educational value.

Lets not discuss the complicated mess of risk factors, potential contributing factors, and failed mitigation factors as there is already a host of political finger pointing going on and this forum does not need to be dragged down into this mess.

Those that do not learn from history are bound to repeat it.

Thanks mercman for the link. interesting and just as scary as today's news!

For me, I have no problem with a forum carrying an 'off topic', 'off theme' thread if it is both socially topical and significant. and contemporary! especially since there are FB subscribers affected by the LA County fire issues.

I do prefer not to see posts here, for example... with an apology and then some hot rod part for a chebbie as a New Post, etc.!

Seems to me there is already a CA Fires thread here on FB. this could have been better placed there, imo. however, i would no doubt have missed this link. seen too much Ca Fires on news already.

Karl, I agree with you wholeheartedly except for one point. I watched it for the trucks, not the cars. Anybody see that red '57-'60 F350 9' styleside pickup at 4:26? Wow.
