17" wire rims question Just saw a posting of someone selling some 17" wire wheel rims off of a 33 Ford. Are these really that rare??
|
Re: 17" wire rims question Not rare at all in my world, but finding 5 straight ones is more of a challenge
|
Re: 17" wire rims question No they are not.33 and 34 are the same. The bent spoke 17" are not as common.
|
Re: 17" wire rims question How much were they asking and were they straight? Don't need them but that would explain your comment. It is one thing if they are $25 each and another if they are $900 each, if they are the second case they are not that rare.

Re: 17" wire rims question Bent spoke KH's were not specified. Thats a different story.

Two 16 Inch Ford Wire Wheels compared. Standard on left and Kelsey Hayes on right |
Re: 17" wire rims question Ford did not offer 17" wheel trim rings, only 16" rings starting with the '35s. 17" and 18" trim rings were strictly aftermarket.

Re: 17" wire rims question 2 Attachment(s)
17" rims were ALSO standard equipment on 1935 Ford's - In Germany at least. NOTE "Riider" middle bottom - 5.50 X 17 picture #2, I suspect that the majority of "leftover" 33-34 rims where shipped to Germany for liquidation of inventory.
