Juice brakes on my ‘34 question

1 Attachment(s)
I have juice brakes on my ‘34, had them put on about 3 years ago. I don’t drive the car that much, but now, with winter here I can tinker with things, the brakes have always been a little too tight, in other words, the car will barely roll out of the driveway backwards because the brakes are kind of on…

When driving it you can kind of feel that they are on and when you press the brakes stop very very quickly. So how do I adjust this? I have attached a photo of the master cylinder and it’s pushrod and I numbered the various nuts that can be adjusted, I want to start off on the right path instead of making it worse, so any suggestions would be appreciated thanks again Barners…

If it’s too tight at the master, adjust the rod so it has 1/16” of play before it contacts master cylinder. If it’s too tight at each wheel, adjust each shoe individually (40 to 48 style brakes). Or the bottom link if they are Lincoln style brakes.

That totally works, I backed off at the master cylinder, and it completely release the car, can’t believe I’ve been driving it often on like this for a while. Thanks a million.
