Time for turn signals
 

Hey folks, I am getting tired of rolling down the window to stick my arm out to signal a turn in my 36 pickup. It's ok in the summer when the air is warm but now that it is colder and I am getting older raising and lowering the window gets old quick. I would like to find some very small, inconspicuous stand alone LED 6 volt turn lights. I am looking for suggestions. Is there a special flasher for LED lights?

Good morning... I struggled finding a Flasher that would work with my 1935 turn signals... also LED. I have used this one over a year now and it's great. following is from my post on the matter in Dec 2023:

34fordy,couple of yrs.ago i purchased 4 30s i would call them beehive style turn signal lights off amazon. ididnt want those rectangular shaped ones like the ones i had on a '30 model A tudor i had in early 80s. the little behive design is more art deco like our fat fender cars. also harley davidson i believe used a similar design in 1937. you might be able to see in pictures of my '37 that pete hoovie enlarged. those pics can be found on a thread i started "find out more about my '37 fordor" on 2/20/2024. i will look at my orders to get more info if you like.by the way those beehive lights are incandescent bulbs that work well withe the system i bought. i just changed out the little 12volt bulbs that came with to 6volt. I have what I believe might be an early or prototype version of what LogoLights currently sells (6 volt). The previous owner of my car told me that he picked the system up at a MAFCA national convention some years ago. It uses LED lamps that mount between the two bars of the bumpers. Flasher unit is a couple of switches mounted on an aluminum rectangular box, which in turn attaches to the gas tank with magnets.

I find that my lights are pretty anemic. I tried with no success to use the system to power the LED taillight replacements that I got from Snyder’s. Didn’t even light them up, and obviously no flash.

If I was starting from scratch, I’d use the upper bulb (brake light) of the rear, and either cowl lights (if you have them), in-headlamp parking lights (if you have them) or external LEDs for the front. You cannot be too bright for turn signals. I’d use a Signal Stat switch and whatever flasher will work (you may have to experiment a bit).

I have not seen a current LogoLights system in use, so the above may not currently apply. But if they are the same as mine, I can’t recommend them.

ScubaChief60,is your car still 6volt? my '37 is still 6volt and i might switch to led bulbs if i thought there was a dependable flasher. Tom.
