Battery grease gun recommendations.
 

Between the ‘41 and my Kubota tractor I have a lot of fittings to grease and the arthritis in my hands makes it harder to use the squeeze type grease gun. Any recommendations for a battery powered one.?

Do you have any cordless tools now? If so, I would suggest sticking with that same brand so the batteries interchange. They all make some type of cordless grease gun now days.

The Milwaukee M18 unit is very nice.

I'll second the suggestion that you keep it "in the family" because of said battery considerations. I was looking at them, but they were so expensive I settled on a pneumatic unit.

In the end, they all leak.

We use Milwaukee M18 here at work and they seem to hold up well.

^^^^ as do we. They get dropped and subjected to summer heat and extreme cold. They hold up.

I had a Lincoln years ago and now a Milwaukee because I have Milwaukee tools. Battery compatiblity is something to think about as the other guys said. I like the Milwaukee.

You can get a locking coupler for the end of your grease gun that helps out a bunch and makes it a one man job.

I’ll jump on the ”same brand that you already have” bus….some places offer the tool without the battery (if you already have one) for a lot less money. I think the locking coupler that Seth mentioned is from “Lube Lock”….I have one and they work great….Mark

I have a reasonable priced air operated grease gun from H F.

Off subject but along same lines:
When I was a youngster back in the early 50s, I had a job repairing Lincoln as well as all the other lube guns & pumps. I worked for Spencer Bros. in Long Beach, Ca.
We also installed the overhead equipment in new const.& repaired all kinds of equipment
to keep these old fords on the road & tractors in the field. Funny story that I must relate someday.

Both the Milwaukie m18 and Dewalt 20v are good units.

Thanks guys I do have some Dewalt tools and a Ryobi weed eater that I use the dewalt battery with an adapter. I’m keeping an eye on the Black Friday deals.

A little off topic, but relevant in a way. I’m a Makita guy, and a couple months back at a local tool show, the Makita rep mentioned the industry was moving to higher voltages. Had not heard that. Can’t recall exactly, but Makita was moving to 48V? and Dewalt was going to 60V? The power was crazy. Like using battery operated tools to cut concrete and such. Not sure if this was going to be across the board, but thought I would mention it. I later picked up a Makita cordless ratchet. Wanted to get one before, but their first iteration had really bad reviews. Was looking at a Milwaukee version, but they had smaller “non-uniform” batteries. At least the Makita ratchet was compatible with their “normal” 18V batteries. Also recently got a Makita cordless grinder. Love both the ratchet and grinder.
