My son just bought a 2000 corvette and is looking for a quality outdoor car cover. Any suggestions

I’ve had 4 California Car Covers, but I’ve been lucky in that they’re all indoor covers. I just sold one that was 32 years old (went with the car), 2 that are over 25 years old, and one brand new one. They all fit well, held up well, and did what they were designed to do. I’d buy an outdoor one if I needed it. The oldest one had probably been washed over a dozen times (simple flannel, just to get the dust out of it). Stitches held up, didn’t shrink, they all fit. The last one seemed expensive, but prices have gone up in 25 years. Extensive choices, takes a while to sort thru them and what’s best for your climate and situation. Cheap over 20 years.

I used to be all about the California car cover.
Learned that another company makes them for them. I forget them name.

If it's outdoor try something like the sealskin ones.

I changed to the old budge style brown ones. They only hold up for 2-3 years.

I feel like the fabric of the cal covers has weathered my paint over time. Because of the not so snug fit.

I have several outdoor cars. The paint on most is very good to nice. See that it's for a Corvette owner. Kaye got to a Corcette forum and ask. Most probably don't leave their vette outside.

I agree with all the "negatives" posted here! I have had better luck keeping things up to speed with no cover, just weekly washings. Yup, the paint will take a hit over many years but nothing like the "buffing" a car cover will give! My Ranchero project was "stored" under a good cover (designed for outdoor use) and suffered immensely from critter damage and as a home for yellow jackets! My answer was to invest in a car port. Worked to keep two of them under cover but still "exposed" to prevent critter damage and bees from finding a home.
