Super.....Thanks for posting that refresher. .....all clear now.

Earlier, I had read that explanation several times in my original owners manual and it all just seemed like reading greek to me:

Well I agree all 3 are like the same thing only different!!!

Thank god on the zenith carburetors the word zenith was cast in English and not in all the different languages otherwise we'd have probably 300 more variations of the zenith carburetor!!!

Well, actually the name "Zénith" is a French name that was give to the carburetors invented by the frenchman, M. François Baverey, in 1907. The name "Zénith" was inspired by M. Baverey's love of astronomy. He later formed the french company, la Société du Carburateur Zénith, who ultimately created the Zenith carburetors for the Ford Model A.

So the name "ZENITH" that is cast on the side of the Model A carburetor is actually cast in French 🇫🇷! .....and it was also cast in other languages as well, like on this carburetor for the Russian market (for their early GAZ-A and GAZ-AA vehicles):

I agree with you. If it was good for Henry Ford then its good for me.


I use to belong to the San Antonio Model A Club from 85 to 87 while I was doing a residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the San Antonio Dental School. Great memories.
