8RT piston question

I have a 8RT piston question. I am in need of a 8RT piston or set of pistons. I have purchased two pistons from the used market. Neither pistons have the same height as the stock piston about .125 Have I purchased two mercury pistons ? Would love to here your thoughts. Thanks Rick McClure Oklahoma

Re: 8RT piston question

Well I think I have answered my own question. My piston has 8BA stamp on the inside and one of the other purchased pistons says EAC and the other says Mercury.. What are the odds?? Rick

Re: 8RT piston question

"EAC" is also Mercury ('52-'53). To the best of my knowledge, Ford cars and trucks used the same pistons.

The odds? Actually, after 71 Years of "mixing and matching", pretty good.;)

Re: 8RT piston question

Mercury has a 4" stroke. Ford has a 3 3/4" stroke. Pistons are NOT the same.
