Can Regrind

I’m looking for a factory cam I can have sent off and reground for a 59ab. Any particular one I should be looking for?

All 59AB cams are the same.

Will the earlier cam work with the 3 bolt distributor?

Re: Can Regrind

THE Cm has no idea which distributoe it's moving Why not install an 8ba cam and run a late distributor. UnfirtunTELY YOU HAVE TO RUN LATE WATER PUMPS 8RT's work with a small plug. Sorry about the caps? Hit the wrong button!!

Well I just bought a Malory 2 bolt for it. Needing a cam core to send off and get reground. Wondering if the crab style and helmet had the same cam?

Re: Can Regrind

I believe the early cams associated with the helmet dist had the long snout on the end of the cam and short snouts for the crab. I may be wrong but that's what I've found to be the case. I have a good cam core but would have to check which end it has.

Re: Can Regrind

Cam I have is a long snout, probably won't work for you unless you go with a 3 bolt timing cover and a 3 bolt helmet to a 2 bolt crab distributor adapter to space the distributor out. Technically it would be considered a 91a cam even though it was removed from a 39 221 ford reman engine utilizing a 59a block. Ron
