1939 pickup bracket help

I am trying to put my 39 panel back together. There is a bracket that goes from the flange on the front of the radiator to the grille side panels. I cannot find mine. From the illustration in the Green Bible on page 350, it appears to be a simple bracket to make. I would greatly appreciate it if someone with a 39 could provide me with the dimensions of that bracket including the distance between the holes. In the illustration on page 350, there does not appear to be a part number for the bracket.

Attached is an image from page 350 of the Green Book. It features a 1939 Truck front end, not the 112" Commercial version. Is the part you are seeking? I don't know what the difference is between the truck and commercial models, but there is one.
If you are working on a 112" panel delivery then the part number is 81C-8298/9 but if you are assembling a 134" panel truck the part number is 81T-8298/9. I only mention this as these parts are different for the two different "panel" applications.

I think this part may be symmetrically opposite of the one on the other side of the radiator? If you have the one from the other side, then that might be your model.
It also looks to be a formed part, flat on the radiator side, but dished like the grille with a rib on the front side, so it could involve some metal shaping if you have to make one from scratch.

I just noticed your original post title included "pickup" so forget about any of my prior post information regarding the 134" Panel Truck. Hope someone with the part can help you out.

Re: 1939 pickup bracket help

Thanks for trying to help. The grilles in the 1/2 ton have essentially the same parts as the others. It is not the part numbers 8298 and 8299 I was trying to find the information on, it is the little bracket that goes from the front of the radiator to the top of those side panels. It looks like just a piece of flat stock with a hole on each end. I need to know how long those are and the distance between the holes.

Re: 1939 pickup bracket help

The brackets on my 39 pickup are 1 inch wide, .085 thick including paint so just a hair over 1/16 thick. Holes are 3 inches center to center. Holes are oversized 1/4. There are two bends, slight bend at the radiator, greater bend at the grille. Took photos but unable to post so if you message me with email I can send or text to phone also. Ken

Same as my '38. The over all length on mine is 3-3/4". The part is shown on the above drawings but there isn't a part number.

62pan...I sent you a private message. Thank you very much for taking the time to help.

38bill...I appreciate your help as well.

I should be able to make the brackets with the information given.
