A total of 43,250 Model "A"Victoria Coupes were made including domestic cars, foreign cars and knock-down bodies. By far, the largest quantity of Victoria Coupes were assembled in the Edgewater, New Jersey Branch totaling 5631 cars.

Initially, the Victoria Coupe had an artificial leather roof covering because the Murray Body Company did not have the technology & machinery to deep draw steel body panels. These Victoria Coupes are known as Leather-backs. However by April of 1931, the Murray Body Company switched to the manufacture of a deep drawn steel roof body that replaced the more costly Leather-back body.

Contrary to some Model "A" publications, the buyer did not have a choice of a Leather-back or a Steel-back body. Maybe during the changeover there were branches and dealers with some of both body styles to offer a choice, but the Company did not offer a choice in its advertising literature.
The Murray Body Company shipped complete Victoria Coupe bodies to Ford Branches ready for the body drop at assembly lines. These bodies included paint, roofing, upholstery and furnishings.

There is a'31 leather back on BAT auctions right now. I'm thinking it won't meet the reserve. I could be wrong. It seems as though the market is soft for Model A's & V8 Fords, unless it is a really special body style. Parts sales are really soft. It seems like they just don't bring any money, unless I need to replace one.

Yes. As I like to say "you can fit a dead body back there!" :D:D

It does make for some nice storage. I have a full tool kit plus emergency supplies and still have plenty of room if I wanted to add anything else.

My dad liked the Vicki. I liked the Coupe. My next one will be a Vicki. My problem is that I also like the 33-4 grille so will it be a 30-1 or 33-4. Whichever it is it'll be getting my OHV B engine.

The storage space in the bustle of the Victoria is limited and more suitable for blankets. There is more storage space under the rear seat for spare parts.

Seth. I think the car did’t sell as CT is a no title state for older cars and people are worried to get one in there state.

For my taste I prefer a Vicky to other A's It just has the right type of style, and it is compact enough to feel cozy in while driving. Just a mention! Mine was built in November of 1930 and am a member of the Assoc. The bustle is a great read.

Thank you for helping to promote the Victoria Association. When the next update of the MARC / MAFCA Restoration Guidelines become available, there will be a Victoria Supplement. I have worked on it with the help of many Victoria Association members for over 4 years. We used only original, unrestored Victoria's and the Victoria Association list of surviving Victorias for a lot of our information.
