well I did it!

I installed a Weaver Crane to my truck and I'm surprised at how well it handles.
It brakes just fine. Don't feel as if the extra load is pushing me as I brake.
It takes turns without leaning like I expected it too.
Rides smooth with a new rear ten leaf deluxe delivery spring by Eaton Detroit Spring.
The front end seems to ride as it should with no feel of it being light on the road.
These are all things brought up in a past thread.

Engine rebuilt (Antique Engine Rebuilding) now in Indiana under new owner.
Aftermarket modern shocks
All new brake system
front end rebuild
New front and rear springs
New Radial tires
Tranny rebuilt and more

No, I don't have the original cab or bed but they are asking more for them then they are worth to me. I already have more in it then I can expect to get for it. It's just my toy!

Thanks guys. The people on this site really helped me out. Going through all the past threads and asking questions when needed was a great help. I appreciate your knowledge and willingness to help others.
Keep it up!

Enjoy it, 1/2 tons were never used as a tow truck.

Thanks alot guys it was a fun Build. I made her a good solid machine that can be a everyday driver.
I started an album with more pics. Including 2 that was in her snowbird days. She came from the state of Main.

Looks like fun. Like the heater, the chain hoist and the rubber floor matts.

Beautiful woodwork. Obviously very time consuming. The pieced together section on the rear of the cab is a work of art. My uncle was a cabinet maker and he knew how to do those things, and it would last a lifetime. A lost talent these days. Well Done Roxo!

I do wood working of many types myself, but I did not make the cab. I tried to find out more about who might have made it but no luck. It took someone with great skills for sure. They tried to mimic the original cab the best they could. It definitely helps make the truck unique for sure. People love the wood cab.
