49-52 6 & 8 Cylinder Intermediate Bellhousing.

I thought I knew but now not so sure. Is there any difference between the intermediate bell housing used on the 6 cylinder and the V8?

Not the same. Don't interchange.

Are you asking about the flywheel housing or the clutch housing (hogs head)? The parts book shows only one clutch housing for the 4 speed spur gear trans.

6 cyl is about 3/4" deeper. I could measure one tomorrow if you need to know.

Re: 49-52 6 & 8 Cylinder Intermediate Bellhousing.

I have 2 of them. A year ago when I bought them from a guy who thought they were for a V8 I asked on here about the fact that they were about 3/4 deeper than the 49-50 Merc's I use for my T5 conversion and nobody could answer my question. Please get back to me with the right depth so I can make sure that's what I have. I've sold my T5 kit to several customers with the 6 cylinder and the stamped steel intermediate bellhousing but the depth never came into play. I'm trying to help a customer do a conversion. Thanks for your response.
