Did the Model A Ford get its name on this date in 1927? Not really, but September 25th holds some significance to the New Ford becoming known as the Model A. Find out more in this video. https://youtu.be/mkyO67g7opY |
Re: How the Model A got its Name I just found out my TV package has youtube with a Model A Ford channel on it.
Same videos as mentioned above I guess? |
Re: How the Model A got its Name That video is nice. Cool to see the progression of the models without having to go and hunt for pictures of them.

Re: How the Model A got its Name Henry made at least 3 attempts to form his company.
In 1904, I believe it was, he had a new Model A designed and again the investors revolted and separated from his company. Part of the deal was Cadillac which owned a big part of the company had the right to build the new car so in 1904 there were TWO identical cars produced by two different companies. A Cadillac and a Model A Ford. Ford continued to make new models with alphabetic designations until 1909 using Model T through 1927. Edsel along with Henry developed a new car that was so revolutionary they started over with Model A. Could you even imagine model U ? Richard Anaheim CA |
Re: How the Model A got its Name When Edsel Ford asked Henry what they should name the new car Henry was a little hard
of hearing and said Eh? So Edsel took it to mean they should start all over again with A..... Belive it or not...... |
