Rockwell did a couple of prints with Ford Station Wagons as the theme. Another is "A Day At the Beach" comparing going and coming from the shore. This image was from the Saturday Evening Post, dated August 3rd 1946, so we know it's not a '47 or '48.

Love it. I have two of the Norman Rockwell's of Henry, Edsel, and Henry II that were a dealer only item. Also the 4 other pictures issued for the 50 anniversary. They are in gold painted wood frames with a 50th anniversary tag. They were reproduced for the 75th anniversary I think.

I like the house, although parking would be a problem

If Norman Rockwell was true to his coloring then I would say it's a 1946. A color called "Dynamic Maroon" was offered in 1946, very much like pictured.

The girl appears to be hand cranking on a jack. Ford used the flipper top jacks that had to be placed under the axle and hand cranked to lift the corner of a light pickup. The ones Ford used for cars were crap and a lot of them were tossed when they failed to function properly. Folks would use what ever jack that they could find cheap that actually worked. Those early bumper jacks were dangerous.

Oh yeah, I remember having to jack the car up about 3 feet just to get a tire off!

Years ago a neighbor had a 63-64 4wd Ford half ton. They sat quite high. He had a cattle rack in the bed. Hauling a large bull one time when he got a flat. Would just about get it jacked up with handyman jack, then bull would shift around and topple jack. I guess the bull was called many names, his maternal lineage was disparaged as well, I am sure.

Shades of "Deliverance" here.
