Market value …

3 Attachment(s)
So I’ve tried sorting through previous for sale adds on here to try and help me get a ballpark of what market value is for some of the stuff I’m selling to a friend . He’s gonna buy it all, he just told me to work on finding out what other people were selling the same items for . I attached pics , some of the items are running original 1932 v8 Flathead , don’t have trans in pic but have the original 32 trans as well, original front /rear fenders along with running boards, luggage rack , frame horns , lights bar with v8 emblem and headlights , splash guard. Items were from a roadster. Any additional input is welcome, some items I had less luck finding multiple examples for sale. Would the front fenders be worth less due to them having the recess for the spare tires vs originals that were smooth and didn’t have spare tire indentation

Some parts are OUT of Production, so sale should be good. Newc

$5-6K to a friend? You might get more(double) by advertising them,,dragging them to a swap meet (Long Beach model T meet) individually and then spending time to pack & shipping plus waiting for payment.

Perhaps I am out of step but, it seems odd (to me) that your friend would ask you to find out what other similar parts are selling for.

Re: Market value …

He had seen pics of the items and asked me for prices for each item, so I told him give me a little time because I honestly didn’t have a clue what some of the stuff would sell for . I’m in the process of clearing out a garage and storage unit of parts .

Re: Market value …

They are original , paint is nice enough for a driver , but they aren’t dented so they could easily be repainted if someone wanted to run them on a car with a nice paint job .

Yes. There is a smaller market for welled fenders than non-welled.

It is hard to tell definitively from 1 picture BUT the engine doesn't appear to be "original" 32....at least the intake, generator and fuel pump for sure (and thus carburetor too), I don's see the "18-" on the head??? Hard to tell the block without seeing the drain petcocks!!!

As a barometer, there has been a "original" 32 motor "complete" for sale here on the barn....It started at a $3000 asking and is NOW down to $2500. FYI

Are you paying rent on the storage locker? Either way, getting those parts gone and freeing up some room for other uses / projects is the goal? I moved 400 miles and brought along way to much stuff, and over a couple of years sold things off to friends,
and the LB swap meet. The result? Improved productivity, used the proceeds to fund
the projects I was interested in.
Make him an offer he can't refuse! How many swap meets have attended to see the same stuff for sale, year after year...

There appears to be an early McCulloch supercharger hiding on the floor in front of the engine. Is that also for sale?

Front welled fenders, pair $1200. with complete side mount brackets add $300.
Rear fenders, pair $1000.
Running boards, pair $500.
Front splash pan, $300.
Rear frame horn covers, pair $300.
Head light bar with headlights, $500.
Luggage rack, $750.
Not mentioned or pictured, if included, correct authentic luggage rack cross tube $1000.
Bumpers (2) with bolts (4), end plugs (4), mounting brackets 2pr. $900.
Engine as pictured if 32 block $2000.
Engine as pictures if NOT 32 block $500.
Does the engine have a 32 Alum oil pan? if yes add $500.
OR Does the engine have a correct 32 late production steel oil pan? if yes add $500.
Does the engine have a correct 32 distributor? if yes add $750.
32 trans, $250.

A lot of question marks and ifs, in my opinion these are friend to friend prices, i didn't add it all up but ballpark 5 to 6 K seems reasonable, but since your in Calif you may want to add 50%

Yeah, storage unit cost where I’m at is crazy expensive so my goal is to empty that out and sell it all off. Goal is to finish a 1932 3w abandoned project I bought that was about 70% done when I got it . I figure may as well sell off stuff I’m not using to cover cost of finishing up the build rather than come out of pocket.

Good eye ! The guy I got the car from had changed out the items you mentioned for some odd reason. I’m trying to recall what year intake he said it is. He said he went to the stromberg carb because it ran better for him 🤷www.jalopyjournal.net♂️

Good catch. That is a McCulloch supercharger. I bought it as a complete package, it has a lot of the needed parts , not just the unit. I’m guessing it will need going through on the unit itself . I never ran it on a car . I spoke to some guys on Facebook that made a McCulloch supercharger group . They said they thought value would be around 4500-5000 ?
