'73 Mach I Rear disc brakes Hello fellow Ford guys,
My son just got a Q code '73 Mach I from his uncle. We have to go through all the running gear and brakes. My question is: Does anyone know if the rear disc brakes from a '91 Lincoln Town car will bolt up to a '73 9" rear end. I have a perfectly good Lincoln that won't pass smog sitting in my driveway. The wreckers only offered me $350for it, so if the swap will work, it will become a donor car. Any comments or input will be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!! Todd |
Re: '73 Mach I Rear disc brakes I would hesitate to alter and original Q code. I had a 72 Q code XR7 and never found the brakes lacking. But it's your car and anything could probably work with enough adapters and research.

Re: '73 Mach I Rear disc brakes The factory Lincoln rear disc's used 1/2 T-bolts, big bearings and the ends are twisted slightly. The Mustang is probably 3/8 T-blolts and may use a smaller bearing. So In my mind the short answer is no, but if you do have 1/2 T-bolts and same size bearing, it may all bolt on, but calipers will be rotated down.
