Noise like a wolf whistle- in case it happens to you

Hi: "In case it happens to you"

Today our club participated on a great cold February tour (28 degrees at the start of the day). First early breakfast, then photo opportunity at a members home, later tour of an amazing car collection and ending with a nice lunch at a country cooking restaurant.

My Roaster performed very well until my return trip home. All of a sudden I heard a very loud noise that sounded like a loud wolf whistle. Thinking it was the engine we stopped on the side of the road, but when we accelerated the engine when stopped I could not reproduce the sound. AS I continued the trip the noise got louder and the speedometer was acting up. Stopped again, disconnected the speedometer cable and the noise stopped.

Next check the cable for damage, if not lube the cable.

Just in case it happens to you...

My speedometer itself howled like a coyote until I rebuilt it. Lots of dried grease in there. The cable was good, though.
