After 25 yrs of using Champs i tried a set of NGK. Threw in the garbage can after a mth. Went back to champ. I use "D-21" fairly hot plug and works just fine as before the NGK. OMO. ken ct.

I have had good luck with AC-216 in both my '35 & '40 motors. Pat

I think any of those early engine are better off with a little hotter plug than thay call for. Walt

My coworker says he rarely sells Champions because of how bad they are. They have the worst resistance that he has said. I personally stick with Champions on the older stuff though. Have had no problems. Next I would pick AC Delco.

Here is a little different twist for you.I buy adapters and run 14mm plugs in mine. Why?Because of the vast selection of heat ranges and they just seem to run better to me.Just an opinion. James

Re: best plugs to use in stock 36 engine

autolite 216 works in my not so stock 36 motor.

champion h-10's went straight in the trash can and any champions that i find laying around the shop go straight in the trash can.

old champions were good. new ones are some of the worst on the market.

the h-10's in my recently purchased stock 40 looked like brand new and run like crap. put in a set of autolite 216's and it runs like a champ!...excuse the expression. and that's about the 4th time that same senerio has played out for me. just my penny's worth!

I use autolite 216's in my 1950 Fordson 8N tractor. They work real good in that banger too!
