wiring harness Hi! I am in need of the complete wiring harness for my '40. Anybody have experience with any particular vendors' harnesses? Any particular product to avoid or to look for? Thanks for any assistance! I've been hanging around and posting on the Barn for several years now. It's the best place on the web for early Ford enthusiasts and I expect it to continue. Looks good so far! (After all of 5 minutes and one post!)

Re: wiring harness Have bought from Rhode Island Wire (IMO top of the line)
Check them out here-- http://www.riwire.com/ |
Re: wiring harness 1 Attachment(s)
If you are doing a top point restoration than in my opinion Rhode Island is the only choice.
If you are simply doing a nice car and want it safe, Dennis Carpenter can't be beat for quality and price. |
Re: wiring harness We converted our 47 Merc. from 6V to 12V.
Bought Ron Francis wiring harness. Includes everything that you would need. (not braided wiring) Great support!. Bob -Hampshire, Illlinois |
Re: wiring harness I have bought wire harness from Tyree Harris and it is a very good product from a real nice honest man,but I have also bought from Rhode Island wiring and believe it was a little better fit and better end crimping plus solder. You get what you pay for and Rhode Island is more expensive.

Re: wiring harness Tyree Harris. He is the best. He's a very honest and fair man too.

Re: wiring harness Have used Rhode Island wiring. Their harnesses have terminals that are both soldered and crimped to the wire. Some vendors only crimp the terminals.

Re: wiring harness Another option is Narragansett Reproductions in Wood River Junction, Rhode Island. They make a quality product, see their website www.narragansettreproductions.com for more information. I was very happy with the products I received. LouB.

Re: wiring harness I have used Rhode Island, Tyree Harris, Dennis Carpenter, etc. Tyree is great to deal with, he did the harness for our '53 F-100 Panel Truck, Dennis Carpenter's harness is in our '51 F-1, only problem was the horn wire in the harness going to the horn relay was a bit too short to follow the original wiring route. I got the harness for our '39 LZ from Rhode Island Wiring and it looks super however, they shorted me on connectors and when I called they told me they did not know how many connectors were needed... They built the harness and didn't know... Draw your own conclusions.
