1935-36 pickup cowl lacing The cowl lacing that I bought measures 3/16 thick (same as used around the grill shell). The relief around the cowl varies from + 1/4” on the top to + 3/16 on the side. The deeper area causes the hood to set below the cowl in this area.
Visually it doesn’t look right. Ford must have had a reason or the original lacing was different than the repo product today. Any thoughts on this discrepancy? |
Re: 1935-36 pickup cowl lacing Whether it matters in your situation, Ford used a hard-core lacing and all that has been available in recent years is very soft and compresses quickly out of shape.

Re: 1935-36 pickup cowl lacing Thank you Don.
Sounds like Ford did not adjust for the difference in lip depth. The Vintique brand webbing i have is close @ .175-.180 thick x .6 wide |
