Radiator Filler Neck Replacement The filler neck on my '30 original radiator is damaged and needs to be replaced. Since the originals are crimped on and soldered, how is that done?

Re: Radiator Filler Neck Replacement I would find an old school radiator shop in your area...if that is all possible, most radiator shops now just replace them, they have no idea how to fix them...what is this World coming to?
Lucky for me there is an old radiator shop that's been in business for over 60 years that's only about 25 miles away...your experience may differ Or...you could try repairing yourself, do you know anything about soldering? (you'll want an air compressor handy) |
Re: Radiator Filler Neck Replacement Snyders has new necks to solder in. See https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/4...4014&cat=41737
Trick is to have everything really clean, use a lead-tin solder, and a good flux. A torch works better than an iron but be careful not to get it too hot. |
Re: Radiator Filler Neck Replacement A helper at hand, with gloves on may be a good idea too.
