1939 ford deluxe trunk handle
 

IS their a way to take apart the trunk handle on a 1939 ford deluxe i mean the guts and all complete. THANK YOU JIM S.

Taking it apart is easy. Putting it back together is darn near impossible.

the trunk handle i have is a extra one it has a few dings in it i taught by taking it apart it would be easyer to get at the dings any other sugestions would be appreciated thanks JIM S.

I've gone in the back and replaced the lock and lock cover spring. Removing the stainless skin and getting it back on straight would be more difficult. Maybe someone can help you with that.

I re-furbish '39 handles when they are in good shape. Almost impossible to remove the stainless skin and replace without splitting and tearing. The back assembly can be removed and replaced to repair the lock cover and service the inner guts and remove a good serviceable cylinder by cutting a new key to code. Then tapping new holes where spot welds have been drilled out and using new screws to re-assemble. Tedious, but doable. In fact the picture above is one of my re-furbished handles as it was pictured on E-Bay.
