The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn Well not mentioned yet, so I will be the first to comment on todays new changes to the forum....drum roll...Its OK ! I am guessing it uses less data in the new format, not having every post showing unless you click on it. So, different, but OK. Ryan has done something to make it more efficient, or easier/cheaper to maintain, good on you Ryan for this move if it helps you out. Again, its OK. My model T forum, MTFCA, went to a different format a couple years ago, and it sucks, and old frequent users are gone. Wont happen here is my guess. No whimpering, just comment

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn You can get the same standard view very easily. Click the "Display Modes" at the top right of the thread and choose "Linear Mode". This small part of the world returned to proper shape.

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn Yes I noticed that change and thought it was me, something that I had pressed incorrectly, but I did work it out and now back to normal. I am over all these changes in the world and most are not for the better anyway. Bring back the 1950s and 1960s would do me fine. Some of this electronic shit is fine but much of it is not. Regards, Kevin.

"38 coupe".....THANK YOU for that seemingly minor bit of information. I was beginning to have heart palpitations, fiercely dreading some BIG change like happened three or four years ago at our sister forum. The normal format here that so many of us have become used to offers so much information in it's original form. I know that change is inevitable, like changing our underwear, but please....not the Ford Barn. And Ryan, myself along with so many others here, really do appreciate your efforts and expenditures HERE! DD . |

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn Thanks guys, good to know I can "make it go away daddy, make it go away" if I want! I am not the resident computer expert, but I assume it was done for a reason. I usually read every post if its a topic I am interested in, or participating in, so as a user, I dont see the advantage of having to click on every post separately. At least, its easy, I am not complaining

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn Koates...I couldn't agree more

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn My freewheeling brain just had an interesting thought, my computer knowledge leads me to imagine Ryan being "that man behind the curtain" in the wizard of OZ ! Flippin switches, pulling levers, just to make the show go on! Perhaps now it will run without the choke partly out! ....sorry, I'll go lay by my dish now

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn I have not been here in a couple of days so maybe I missed the change? All seems normal as the last time I was here.

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn My computer just stayed on the linear mode. If things came on differently, I would still be trying to figure it out and after an hour of frustration have my daughter come in and figure it out. terry

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn I have not noted any difference in the Barn on/in my computer. Did I miss something?
|
Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn No difference here either. THANK GOD, because I'd be duuhhh. If it weren't for The Barn, H A M B & Early V8 club, I'd probably toss my laptop in the dump. Another thing I HATE is all of the electronic crap in newer cars that I don't want but is shoved down your wallet....
|
Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn I haven't noticed anything different either. Same old (great) forum
|
Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn I feel your pain. I was driving my wife's BMW the other day and the engine would keep shutting off every time we came to a stop, then start back up when I pressed the gas. I hate that. Let me turn off my car when I want to, damn. Oops, sorry (not sorry) to propagate this.....

Re: The world never stops changing, now even the FordBarn What irritates me is you can't find a simple/plain jane new car to buy. I'm fine with just the basics like power steering, power brakes, heater and AC, manual or auto transmission, AM/FM radio with a CD player. I don't need nor do I want a TV screen in the middle of my dash, a back-up camera, GPS, power windows, power seats, heated seats, tire pressure sensors, auto door locks - what am I missing - the list seems to go on and on. And, these are not options - you don't have a choice!
