No cell battery

Question:
The battery in my 37 Ford is a show battery with Ford logo.
It doesn’t have cells, but an electronic apparatus.

It is constantly running down. I recharge it with a 6 volt charger, but it reads
8 plus volts.

Question: Has anyone seen a battery like this? Do you have to have a special charger for it?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You may have an Optima in an original case. Why is it running down? If it is disconnected and running down you may need a new one. If it is connected and running down it may be time for a new battery.

If it is installed in the car and running down then it sounds a little like a "phantom" or parasitic load. A defective alternator would be one area to explore. We're making further assumptions. Until we know what you have we can only guess. A generator charging system? A stuck cutout relay works well to cause trouble.

Post some pictures of your battery, I mounted a cutoff switch under my dash.

I don't understand how it can be 8 volts...unless there is an 8 volt battery in there?
