No cell battery Question:
The battery in my 37 Ford is a show battery with Ford logo. It doesn’t have cells, but an electronic apparatus. It is constantly running down. I recharge it with a 6 volt charger, but it reads 8 plus volts. Question: Has anyone seen a battery like this? Do you have to have a special charger for it? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |
Re: No cell battery You may have an Optima in an original case. Why is it running down? If it is disconnected and running down you may need a new one. If it is connected and running down it may be time for a new battery.

Re: No cell battery If it is installed in the car and running down then it sounds a little like a "phantom" or parasitic load. A defective alternator would be one area to explore. We're making further assumptions. Until we know what you have we can only guess. A generator charging system? A stuck cutout relay works well to cause trouble.

Re: No cell battery Post some pictures of your battery, I mounted a cutoff switch under my dash.

Re: No cell battery I don't understand how it can be 8 volts...unless there is an 8 volt battery in there?
