Generator mounting bracket and bolt for Power House Does anyone have photo or location to view what parts are needed to install a power house generator on an early engine, thanks in advance.

Re: Generator mounting bracket and bolt for Power House mine is all apart so i can't give you a photo.
all that is needed is the 1/2" bolt and nut to go through the generator bracket and the engine generator mount bracket which is part of the engine. that's it. the bolt cinches the generator to the motor. an adjusting bracket is used from a front timing cover bolt to the side of the generator. although i ran mine for a long time with no adjusting bracket, it was just the bottom attaching bolt cinched tight. it never came loose on me. |
Re: Generator mounting bracket and bolt for Power House 1 Attachment(s)

Re: Generator mounting bracket and bolt for Power House Thank you for time and photos, my generator just has two 1/4" screws in side, is there a little attachment bracket to connect to the engine adjustment arm bracket ??

Re: Generator mounting bracket and bolt for Power House 2 Attachment(s)
sorry i just took for granted that the bracket was part of the generator
here is what i found i have one generator that the adjusting arm bracket is attached with screw to the side of the generator, this is what i use on my car now. i have another generator that has no provision for the adjuster bracket. maybe the bracket was a change up when they went from side mount cutout to top mount cutout. but am not really sure. so two different. yours would have had that little bracket? |
Re: Generator mounting bracket and bolt for Power House 2 Attachment(s)
I’m taking a few images to both help and get help from those who know best. This is clearly an early Powerhouse unit on an ~October ‘28 Coup. Good images of this area are not widely published in my observation.
Thanks, Steve |
Re: Generator mounting bracket and bolt for Power House The powerhouse generators went through multiple changes in the first year and a half or so before the Autolite types took fully over in production. I found more information on the parts for sale on flea pay than I could find on line when I first started looking at them. Paul & Bill Mcree's book on the model A generator has overhaul info. The Judging Standards is good to have as well.
The timing covers also went through changes so there were several generator mounting changes involved. |
