I'm a turncoat... In a moment of weakness, I was seduced by another orphan. Unfortunately I cannot keep both. The Mercury is being shipped 1500 miles to a 79 yr old gentleman in Florida.
I sincerely appreciate the fellowship and help I've gotten here at the Barn. I was in the garage all evening tying up some loose ends on the Merc and actually felt a little sad. I didn't plan to send it down the road. But I fell head over heels for this Hornet. The A/C and P/S will be nice. Again, thank you very much. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e8328184bf.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...361518032f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c4b0cf78c5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...51be3abeca.jpg |
Re: I'm a turncoat... Nice looking Hudson, looks like fun. Be sure and tell the new owner of the Mercury about the barn if he doesn't already know.

Re: I'm a turncoat... I definitely will.

Re: I'm a turncoat... Sometimes, you got to do what you got to do. :)
You sure found a nice, extremely rare, great looking Hudson there... Hope you have a lot of fun with it, I bet you will. ;);) . |
Re: I'm a turncoat... Turncoat?!! when I read that I thought you'd gone to a Chev....nah, that Hudson is nice with a capital N....Great move. You're forgiven, lol

Re: I'm a turncoat... Twin H , I had one and you will enjoy the ride .
Good luck |
Re: I'm a turncoat... The Hornet is absolutely beautiful! I own one of its later descendants (OT 73 hatchback). Your new set of wheels is just stunning.

Re: I'm a turncoat... Look at it this way : It's still a flathead! And 53 ci larger with dual carbs to boot!
I'd have made the change in a heartbeat. |
Re: I'm a turncoat... It's great to be stung by that Hornet. Beautiful car. Enjoy.

Re: I'm a turncoat... Good move....A/C power steering. Hydromatic dual range trans ???

Re: I'm a turncoat... X2 on what Tubman said. I sure wish that Merc was headed for my garage. Had an uncle that drove nothing but Hudsons till he couldn't find one any more. Sweet ride, specially the TWIN H ! You're forgiven & I AM JEALOUS !

Re: I'm a turncoat... The family name may be different, but they look like cousins to me. Nice Hudson.

Re: I'm a turncoat... You can always come back when you buy your next Early Ford V-8!! ;)

Hell .....Who told you that you had to leave? DD .. |
Re: I'm a turncoat... Count me as a black sheep, but I prefer the Hornets over the Mercs. The Hornets look like factory lead sleds or customs.

Re: I'm a turncoat... I've grown to like the looks of the '54 Hudson as much as the '48-'50 models, and much more than the iconic '51-'53 models. IMO, the '54 ranks as one of the best automotive styling facelifts ever. A real improvement over the '53 Hudsons, which are pretty, too.
Despite the V-8 fever that was starting to explode at the time, if it was 1954 today, a new Hudson is what I'd want. :) Sorry you had to say goodbye to the Mercury, though. |
Re: I'm a turncoat... Don't think of it as losing 2 doors, but gaining a carburetor.:D
