Electric Fuel Pump

1 Attachment(s)
I acquired this in line electric fuel pump in some parts I purchased. It’s a new pump and was still sealed in the plastic bag. I know it came from Fifth Avenue Parts in Kansas complete with instructions. Problem is that I don’t know if it’s 6 volt or 12 volt. There aren’t any other markings on it except for the ones in the photo. I’ve reached out to them but no luck. I think Randy who operated the place passed away. So is there anything I can do to determine whether or not it’s 6 or 12 volt ??

.

Ken....Going by those numbers seen printed on the pump, it MAY be a Carter, and LIKELY, 12v. None of this FOR SURE, though. DD

Try it on 6volts FIRST. If it works, use it. If not try 12 volts.

Some of those Carters, some vendors have said they'll work on either 6 or 12v. I've always wondered about that.

Re: Electric Fuel Pump

Almost everything electrical without a circuit board works on 6v, even if it is 12v. Just half as fast.

Carter is a good company. Looks like a push/pull pump. Didn't know they made those.

Rule of thumb, 6v on 12v no harm. 12v on 6v well.
