1946-1948 Ford/Mercury Hood Tensioner Washer Position Question

Where should the tensioner washers be positioned with the hood and hinge arm mechanism?

A. Should the tensioner washers be used between the hood and the hinge arm?

OR

B. Should the tensioner washers be used on the shoulder of the bolt through the hinge arm then onto the hood bolt hole?

If you have any photos of your own working hood and hinge arms; I would appreciate if you posted these for clarification.

I have already referred to the "Aligning 1941/1948 Ford Hood May/June 2009" and this does not contain the answer regarding the tensioner washers position.

Thank you very much for any help.

I have mine on my '46 Woodie like your B. answer. The head of the bolt fits the tension washer perfectly.

Re: 1946-1948 Ford/Mercury Hood Tensioner Washer Position Question

My '41 had safety wire holes so when you got correct tension, stays open and closes correctly the safety wires would hold the bolts in that position
