new rear hub bearing failure Do new rear wheel bearings have a failure with the end plates(thrust plates).
While looking for new bearings for my Model A sleeved hubs(uses '36-'48 Ford bearing ?) it seems as though it's a failure problem with the thrust plates (not hardened) and not the rollers. If you've replaced yours with no failure problems who was the supplier ? Don't want to go 500 miles like some have and bearings fail. |
Re: new rear hub bearing failure Most often new means china. Find NOS or good used.

Re: new rear hub bearing failure My searches for NOS have not shown any thing yet. I'll find them.I know there out there.
Your right. No China bearings. |
Re: new rear hub bearing failure Even some German made bearings that I purchased new had soft end plates in the roller bearings. Always pays to check whatever brand you buy by touching the end plates with a fine file. You cant trust any particular brand these days. Ask THIRD GEN AUTO to send you some good new bearings. Regards, Kevin.

Re: new rear hub bearing failure Or check with Fred at South Side Obsolete.

Re: new rear hub bearing failure I had the same rear hub bearing failure pattern with my 40 when using new aftermarket bearings. The problem was solved when I finally found some NOS Ford bearings. Let us know if you find a source of quality bearings.
