A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 5 Attachment(s)
Beautiful warm, sunny day; drove about 75 miles in my '36 pickup-what could be better? In the Marin headlands overlooking the Pacific and SF Bay(my "backyard"), and up Mt. Tamalpais.
1st photo is the coast south of SF, 2nd and 3rd in the headlands, 4th overlooking the Pacific/Bolinas lagoon, last a view of SF in the distance Adam |
Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 What's that green stuff next to the road? Beautiful ocean view.

Man, I sure do like that truck, Adam! I'm squinting really, really hard and.....I think I can just barely see Russia, right over that hood! DD |

Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 Glad folks like the pics-it's not the Alps or the Rockies but it has its own charm. On a clear day you may not see Russia, or the Suez tanker, but you can see the Farallon Islands wildlife preserve 32 miles away. It's a scratched up old truck but drives great and lots of fun-always gets many honks and thumbs up.The rear crossmember repair I mentioned in the past has been perfect.

Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 And some folks think California is just a bunch of freeways! Beautiful truck AND Scenery!!!!!

Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 Very nice pictures and nice looking '36 :)
Curious, in the very 1st picture, what is that object at about 11 o'clock ? . |
Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 Looks like the pacific 101 highway. Great pictures! thanks.

Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 GB, it doesn't have a patch on your area (San Juan Islands)-my older son lives in Bellingham, I love the ferry rides up around there.
Lanny, it's a Trico vacuum powered fan-turn towards your face for summer, towards the windshield for (minimal) defrost in the winter-no regular defroster set up in these old trucks Tinker-close; photos were on Rdigecrest Blvd on Mt Tamalpais, just off California Route 1 (the Coast Highway). I live basically right on Route 1, just over the Golden Gate Bridge from SF Adam |
Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 Thanks for sharing !Thanks to 9-11 I was in SF and couldn't fly out to go home from a convention !Rented a car and got to see Yosemite, and drove
north of Sacremento to see some of the beauty of California ! There are some beautiful sights to see ! Thanks again for sharing ! |
Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 hi Adam, yes, I've had a few old vehicles back in the day with the fan like that.
I'm talking about the little blurry object, at about 11 o'clock high. Looks like Sputnik. . |

Yesterday was the first day in months that the Temperature reached high 60s, so guess which one got the call-out.

Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 Just a chip in the glass-not in my direct line of sight so not worth replacing the windshield-I should have read the question more closely; the fan is at 7 o'clock, not 11

Re: A lovely drive on a Spring day in my '36 Thanks for clearing that up Adam. That's what I thought it might be,
But with all the sightings these days, ya never know ;)...thanks again :) . |
