Re: New 1940 Truck project

Welcome aboard. The size of the picture file is usually the problem with posting photos. If the photo is on your phone, you can e-mail it to yourself to reduce the file size or I download them to the computer and then use the Windows Photos application to resize the photo to a smaller size. I have also used the Paint software to reduce the file size.

Once I have the reduced size file, I use the "Manage Attachments" tab in the additional options below the text input box that pops up after clicking the blue "Post Reply" button. There are several other ways of doing it, but that is the process that I use. Good luck, I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your truck.

As promised, here are the pictures of Mark's pick-up, and a couple of other interesting old pieces. As we can see, it has a later 8BA-type engine in it. My money says that there ain't even ONE spark left in that battery! And yeah....WELCOME to The 'Barn! DD

Welcome to the Barn friend. Nice truck.

My guess is that the mice/rats took up residence in the block using the missing thermostat housing as a front door. Truck looks pretty solid and the tweakers didn't steal the radiator.

Good luck. Great to have them brought back from the dead.

Looks like a solid start. It has a '41 front end (which I prefer). Are you sure that it's a '40 ?

It also appears that it has a spare mount on both sides of the bed.

I like your truck. This is 1941 I restored about ten years ago. Good luck

That right rear fender is gonna need some work but the rear bumper is one of the beefiest I've seen in awhile. We do love a good challenge. Best of luck, Tim

'40 or '41 either way make sure you can get it licensed in TN.

Congratulations Mark on your find and welcome to Ford Barn.
As Ken has suggested, I believe that you have a 1941 Ford Pick-up.
They are very similar to the 1940 models but with some enhancements.
Compare your Pick-up with Mark's blue 1941 model.
The photo of the Green 1941 Ford Pick-up is from the original 1941 Ford Commercial Sales Brochure.

Re: New 1940 Truck project

Congrats!! The truck looks like a 41. Frame number will tell for sure. Your truck is in the same shape my '40 was when I drug it home from farmland in Colorado, including the home made angle iron/ I beam rear bumper. The great news (and it is great news) is that it looks complete and with the most important parts- the rear fenders and the hood.
Enjoy

Re: New 1940 Truck project

Welcome - I love 40-41 pickups and I am in the middle of a not-so-stock build of one right now. Best looking truck ever made imho.

Hi Mark and welcome!

NEAT '40 Ford pickup that looks like a good one to restore. They are and always will be very collectible. Very desirable trucks.

Well done friend:):)
