1940 Pickup Front Fender Bracket hole Location 1 Attachment(s)
I am using a 42-47 cab and there are no holes for the cowl fender brackets. The reveal is there but that’s it. Looking for a hole size and a location within that small reveal. If it’s in the center that’s fine - Abby pics or I for woukd be appreciated ....
Thanks for any help you can give .. |

Tom, It seems as if I never take enough photos. I'll probably never learn to do "it" different. I have attached two photos that might get ya a little closer...
Sorry that's all I can help. |
Re: 1940 Pickup Front Fender Bracket hole Location 5/16" square for a carriage bolt. Its usually booged up on 40-41 cabs from wear tear and accidents. I have re- enforced it in the past because the square on the carriage bolt is thicker then the sheet metal

Re: 1940 Pickup Front Fender Bracket hole Location ^^ Skid is right. Often boogered up, probably some fatigue. It is in the centre of that dimple (as far as I can tell).
Do you have the little brackets? They only go on one way round. Mart. |
Re: 1940 Pickup Front Fender Bracket hole Location Thanks gents - I have what I need ....

Re: 1940 Pickup Front Fender Bracket hole Location Big truck cabs aren't just missing the hole on the little pad for the upper bracket, but also the three holes along the edge of the cowl as shown in the above photos.

My cab was a virgin and Han no holes one’s either side but the flattener area location is. As Mart said, I drilled a hole dead and the middle by lining up a similarly sized washer. I used some rear fender bedside bolts, flat side out, square portion in the bracket itself, to bolt them in place. I will see how that works out ....
