Sheldon.....That was a blast! Thanks, Bud!

If I'm not wrong, that was the same venue that our friend Mart in Solihull put his 3-window coupe through it's paces. DD

Good eye, Coops.
The No24 car was shown on the hill at Prescott. I've run the coupe and the roadster there.
The last clip, Bluebird, was on the beach at Pendine. Again, I've ran the coupe and the roadster there.
Mart.

The Beast of Turin (the first Fiat) is my favorite. So incredible for the time (late teens).

Yeah.....I'm just kind'a hung-up on these old Twin Cessna T-50s. Only a handful still flying today! Sky King liked 'em too. The one pictured here is the one used in the Sky King series, BEFORE actually being purchased by Kirby Grant. Here, it is being flown off of a beach where it had endured a forced landing of some sort. Dick D (DD)

I guess a prop strike in the sand didn't require a tear down and inspect back in '55.

Hey Tim.....That's a good point to make, but like several of the older twins back then, notice that even with the gear retracted as seen on this example in the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola (been there...it's unbelievable!), the wheel/tire is still substantially exposed and was designed to take the load in the case of a gear-up landing. And any pilot with any smarts at all killed the engines the last few seconds before touching down, and with the starters, bumped both props to a horizontal position like in the picture.....NO prop strike! In fact, if you look at the beach picture, I don't see any damage or even any scrapes or scratches to the bottom of the airplane. DD

Extreme engine # 10 should have been a modified 60 hp V-8 Ford in a midget race car....
