Another Scammer

I posted a WANTED ad last week, looking for a '36 glovebox door pull handle.

"mikewordack" responded in a PM that his friend "[email protected]" had one available.

First thing I did was check out mikewordack: no posts, no treads, joined the Barn the day I posted the ad. What the hell, I emailed lincolngrayson anyway -- and was treated to the incoherent BS I expected. So be advised...

Good news is I did find what I was looking for from a longtime member... thanks Ford Barn.

This happens at least a couple times on each wanted ad I post. I hope people arent falling for this.

i think that would be counter to what the want ad section is there for. Ryan does very well in removing proven scammers without throwing everyone under the bus to protect the uninformed. It is our responsibility to post these scam alerts to educate each other rather than to expect someone else to be responsible for shielding us from the bad guys. Just know they're out there and how to recognize them.

This issue has been beaten to death. If you get a reply in response to a wanted ad directing you to an email of someone who has the part you want from a member who just joined and/or has zero or low posts ignore it and move on. BUT not until after you you report the scammer to the mods so they can ban him/her.

Yes and part of that danger is, if you 'bite' and click on an address they provided you, you just clicked on a potentially dangerous web site or e-mail,,, then they hack you and cause all sorts of havoc.

That is usually their plan. They are fishing.
