Doe anyone know of a vendor or if its even made , a wood kit or parts there of for a 32 phaeton ?

There are quite a few wood parts to this car. Doors? Roof bows/header? What are you seeking?

Apologies I am a newbie to phaeton . Doors and seat backs , not sure what you call the part on the seat tops.that tie it together. Roof bows are not high on the list just yet. I do not have a decent parts picture to relate to . Someone has had a rough effort to put steel in .

For sure as there is no wood in the doors of a North American-manufactured '32 phaeton

Tack strip along the top of the front seat back and at the top of the back of the body ?

I could give you some 34 Australian drawings that would likly be a guide to how they did them ,

I too have an Australian phaeton body with hardly any remaining wood. Any help appreciated.

Note the missing words regarding the doors have been added to my post. How I left them out in the first place is a mystery given how many I've had over the years. Talk about senior moments!

That's an interesting and informative thread, but there's one premise stated that is incorrect. The Australian bodies were unique to Australia and made in Australia, not with stampings from Canada, therefore not "Commonwealth" bodies, but rather Australian bodies. The chassis components were imported from Canada and the Commonwealth trade preferences was only one reason for that. Perhaps an equally important reason was that at that time Ford Australia was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ford of Canada, as were most Ford companies in other Commonwealth countries other than the United Kingdom. Other than in Australia, any '32 phaeton sold in the other Commonwealth countries was manufactured in and imported from Canada whose phaetons were identical to their U.S. counterparts except for some minor upholstery and top material differences. In some instances in the case of smaller countries those Canadian exports were routed though the United Kingdom before reaching their final destination.

The thing I thought was odd is the picture of the body that has what looks to be a separate rear center panel like the USA bodies have. With no wood in the cowl, is it possible the cowls came from Canada also?
