49 wagon brake drum Looking for a pair of Rear Brake Drums for a ’49 Wagon (I think they are different than the sedan rear drums). New (or used drums that can be turned a couple of times) would be fine. Suggestions for other alternatives would also be welcome. Thanks.

Re: 49 wagon brake drum First off, thanks for the “welcome to the Barn” comments and the replies to the thread. I appreciate it. I’m currently away from the car for awhile but when I get back I’ll pull the wheels off and look at & measure the drums. I’ll double check what I find against the ‘stock’ part numbers in the Ford Manuals. In the meantime, if anyone has further thoughts or comments, I’d welcome the input.

Re: 49 wagon brake drum The last time a shop checked the brakes they indicated that the drums could not be turned again. At this point, if shoes or any wheel cylinders need to be replaced, a shop may not (because of liability) want to do any work if the drums are out of spec.

Re: 49 wagon brake drum I got a pair of brake drums for a '56 Ford from a company called Master Power Brakes, www.mpbrakes.com, 888-251-2353. Might have what you are searching for.
