Late 1931 Model A Ford standard coupe

While doing some finishing work on inside the cabin I found some letters & numbers (TC 12732) stamped on the cross member under the seat. Is that a body reference # and does it tell where the body was made and or assembled?

The TC refers to the Twin Cities - Minneapolis-St. Paul assembly plant.

These are production numbers that were stamped into most of the Ford build bodies during the Model A years. The TC portion stands for the Twin Cities assembly plant and the rest of the numbers represent your Coupe being the 12,732 one assembled. We think they started with number one at the beginning of the 1930 year and continued them into 1931. Each of the 32 Ford assembly plants had a specified geographic area they provided cars to dealers for sale to the public.

Dave
