Pitted cam journals
 

I bought a nos 8ba cam. Upon inspection, the cam journals are pitted. Any cure, or best to get a refund?

Hi Henry, pitting on the journals is generally a "non-issue", but a picture or two would be more helpful!

P.S. I'm assuming here you do mean the "journals" and not the "lobes", even with the lobes it still may be a "non-issue"?

2With my current phone pictures are beyond me. Phone is smart, me not so much. The lobes are fine. Use as is or polish or? Appreciate your input.

The amount of pitting that is tolerable is purely subjective when talking about it.

As far as pictures with a phone go, a couple of things that always work are, get your grandson to help you or get the grade school kid next door to help you.
Works for me.
